Stage 9 – Tour de France completed
Today was a fantastic day on the bike even with a brutal climb at the 30km mark that pushed 18% in parts followed by a number of 6-7% climbs lasting approx 6km long.
It was always going to be a recovery type ride for me after yesterday’s epic effort. Jack my support vehicle driver saddled up for a crack and keep me company. To be fair, Jack is a very accomplished endurance rider, you know the type who ride with panniers, trailer,… the fully loaded rider with everything inc the kitchen sink… but until tiday has never riden a proper race bike… it was so cool help him complete a full stage of the Tour de France.
Tomorrow is another long stage of more than 200km. It will be a long day as the head winds are strong in our face as we push south to the Pyrenees.
